Technical Theatre Studies, General Studies

My traditional education was in attendance at Red Deer College in Red Deer, Alberta. There I learned of all facets of theatre arts including: set design, prop making, colour theory, stage lighting, construction, welding, stage management, and audio production. In my time there I managed to take a myriad of extra courses including introductory business and philosophy classes.

For the most part I'm self educated. Always with an eye for design, I taught myself video editing, production, graphic arts, photography, and web design. Most of my marketing skills come from real world experience at top brands and just a general interest on what makes things tick. I easily learn new platforms and workflows then quickly develop ways to educate others in a simple manor, and then make attempts to increase efficiency.  I figure if you can make work easier you can do more of it.

My specialties have become digital content creation, most areas of eCommerce,  social media management, branding, and ad campaign creation. I've written the standards for content creation and organization still used at a handful of big name retail chains in Canada.

Working with a major Hollywood production company on an impending Reality Television series, Cornel's World was in need of a new website, content, and solidification of their brand across all forms of digital marketing and social media. They also required integration and rebranding of their  legacy eCommerce platform.

Arcade Restoration, Design, & Gaming

In a random encounter with a Facebook ad selling pre-made, modern arcade cabinets, it had been suggested by a friend that I should "build my own". What started as an effort to prove wrong those who said i'd never complete it has now developed into collecting, restoring, and documenting all things coin-op related. My collection of games mainly encompasses rare titles with a focus on titles from Nintendo and Williams, circa the early 1980's. I am also responsible for creating one of the most copied cabinet designs of the recent DIY arcade era.

I've been making video content for as long as i've been able to hold up a camera. So a couple years ago I combined that with my love of arcade gaming to co-develop and co-produce The Canadian Arcade. In an effort to give a little back to the hobby we are dedicated to sharing knowledge and preserving gaming history, plus getting into a little trouble and learning things the hard way as we go.

Formula 1

It has been said that I bleed McLaren orange. A dedicated fan of motorsport in general, some of my earliest memories involve watching Senna and Fittipaldi set fastest laps and win races. Usually a vacation for me is purposefully aligned in a way so that it coincides with a Grand Prix or some sort of racing heritage site. Race weekends at home are ideally filled with hours of event coverage provided by European broadcasters and pundits.

Competition Paintball

Since 2000 I've been actively involved in almost every aspect of paintball. From playing (and winning) in the highest levels of competition in Canada, to coaching and developing teams and players. Starting in junior high I founded my own online paintball business to provide equipment to my friends in an effort to fund a growing addiction to the sport. Competing has taken me all over North America and introduced me to all sorts of life long friends. I've even been immortalized as a playable character in Activision's NPPL Paintball 2009 for xBox 360, Playstation, and the Nintendo Wii.

Sportting Clays

Something new that has recently taken up a chunk of my spare time is the sport of clay shooting. Growing up in rural Alberta there was never a firearm out of reach. Over the course of the pandemic I decided to learn as much as I could about the growing sport of clay shooting, even becoming a member of the premier facility for it in all of Canada. Golf with shotguns. It's something that requires quick thinking, focus, and a lot of discipline.
